Where History Meets Adventure

Economic Development

The Village of Clinton strives to work with business owners, investors and the general public to diversify Clinton's economic base.

BC PROVINCIAL NOMINEE PROGRAM

On October 18, 2017 CAO, Monika Schittek and CDC, Daniela Dyck met with Deb Zehr and Michael Kim from the Provincial Nominee Program in Vancouver. British Columbia’s economic growth depends on having enough skilled and qualified people to meet labour market needs. The BC Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) is a way for high-demand foreign workers and experienced entrepreneurs to gain permanent residency in B.C. The intent of the visit was to provide Clinton's marketing and investment information to the program directors and to gain a better understanding of how the program works. We were informed that the program has been hugely oversubscribed in the past 3 years and it will take until spring 2019 to catch up the backlog. The BC PNP program will announce updates to the application process in early 2018, with most of the process being moved to an online portal.

Monika and Daniela presented  Clinton's Marketing Plan, Promotional Video and Investment Opportunities to Deb and Michael to share with potential entrepreneurs hoping to immigrate to rural BC.
